The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed claims circulating on social media and some traditional media outlets, including Adom FM, suggesting a “secret” recruitment process and the payment of up to GHS 25,000 to secure teaching appointments.

The recent issuance of new appointment letters for some 2024 applicants followed the extension of financial clearance in October 2025, ensuring those previously recruited on fake letters could be properly onboarded.

These new letters were issued free of charge.
The Service urged anyone approached to pay money for recruitment to report such cases to the security agencies.
It emphasized that established recruitment procedures remain unchanged, and that all official recruitment will be open, transparent, and free of charge, with announcements made only after financial clearance for the main recruitment.
