The Parliamentary Service has officially informed the Electoral Commission (EC) of a vacancy in Parliament following a High Court order for a rerun of the Kpandai Constituency parliamentary election.
In a letter dated 4th December 2025 and addressed to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensah, the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, conveyed the notification in accordance with Article 112(5) of the 1992 Constitution, as amended.
The correspondence was issued from Parliament House in Accra and referenced the Clerk’s constitutional duty to formally report such occurrences.

The notification follows the service of a court order on the Clerk as the fourth respondent in Suit Number NR/TL/HC/E13/22/25.
The High Court in Tamale, on 24th November 2025, directed that the Kpandai Parliamentary Elections be rerun, thereby creating a vacancy in the current composition of Parliament.
The Parliamentary Service emphasized that the communication serves as the official notice of the vacancy as required by law, paving the way for the EC to take the necessary steps toward conducting the rerun.
