The Hwidiem M/A Basic School in Mampong in the Ashanti region has been temporarily closed down following the fatal accident which claimed the life of a 37-year-old female teacher and injured three other colleague teachers in the late hours of Wednesday.
The decision, according to school authorities, will allow teachers and students time to mourn their beloved teacher, Madam Constantce Karikari and also pray for the three other teachers who sustained various degrees of injuries and are now responding to treatment with a speedy recovery as they deal with the psychological trauma.
According to the Assemblyman of the Mampong Ninting Electoral Area, Nicholas Osei Owusu, who visited the victims at the Mampong hospital, told journalists that the victims were travelling from Ashanti Mampong when the incident occurred. He, however, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family, teachers and students of the Hwidiem M/A Basic School and the entire Mampong Ninting Electoral Area for the great loss .

Meanwhile, a poster for the one-week observance of the deceased teacher has been printed out, inviting friends and sympathisers to mourn with the family while an investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of the sudden death of Madam Constance Karikari, whom residents have described as a hard-working professional teacher.
