The Bono East Regional Police Command says calm has been restored in Kwame Danso after a violent mob attack on the District Court and the District Police Headquarters on Wednesday, 10th December 2025.
The incident unfolded around 10:30 a.m., when about 100 youths stormed the court while proceedings were ongoing.
The statement was issued by ASP/Mr. Appiah Danquah, Staff Officer and Acting Public Relations Officer for the Bono East Region.According to the Command, the mob assaulted people within the court premises and vandalised furniture, fans and other items.

They forcibly took away two accused persons who were standing trial and attacked the complainant in the case.
The violence extended to the District Police Headquarters, where two officers on duty were attacked and the police station was vandalised.
A reinforcement team from the Atebubu Division, supported by a detachment of the Formed Police Units, moved in to restore order.
Following directives from the Inspector-General of Police, the Kwame Danso Police Station and the District Police Headquarters have been closed, with personnel reassigned to other parts of the region until further notice.
The Command has assured the public that all individuals involved in the attack will be pursued, identified, arrested and made to face the full consequences of the law.
