The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of five suspected robbers following separate intelligence-led operations in the region.This statement was signed by Godwin Ahianyo, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Head of Public Affairs Unit, Ashanti Region.
Two of the suspects, Farouk Iddris, 20, and Salim Mohammed, 19, were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the robbery and murder of Silver Ngozi, a 28-year-old woman, on 6th December 2025 at Asokore Mampong.
Police arrested the suspects at their hideout in Aboabo, Kumasi, on 12th December. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects robbed the deceased, during which Salim Mohammed allegedly stabbed her with a zigzag-edged knife.

The weapon, along with an iPhone 11 Pro stolen from the victim, was recovered and retained as evidence. Both suspects are assisting police with ongoing investigations.
In a related operation, three other suspects, Abdul Fatawu (22), Philip Nyarko (24), and Samak Hadi (21), were arrested for a series of armed street robberies across Asokore Mampong, KNUST, Kanyase, Bosore, Duase, Antoa, Mayanka, Ayeduase, and surrounding areas.
Recovered items include 59 iPhones, six Android phones, four tablets, and five laptops. All three have confessed to the offences and are currently in police custody.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has urged members of the public who may have been victims of these crimes to come forward and assist with investigations. All suspects will be arraigned in court to face prosecution.
