The Ghana Police Service has arrested 141 suspects, including a landlord, in a major operation targeting cyber-enabled financial crimes at Tabora and Lashibi in the Greater Accra Region.
In a press release dated December 29, 2025, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) stated that the arrests, which followed an intelligence-led joint security operation on December 27, 2025, were confirmed and signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer.
The operation was conducted by the Police in collaboration with the Cyber Security Authority, National Security and the Ghana Immigration Service. According to the statement, the suspects were arrested from their hideouts at identified cybercrime enclaves in the two communities.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were operating coordinated cybercrime networks involved in offences such as Mobile Money fraud, romance scams, sextortion, business email compromise and wire fraud.
The Police said the activities targeted victims both within Ghana and abroad.
Items retrieved during the operation included 38 laptop computers and 150 mobile phones, all suspected to have been used in committing the crimes. The Police said forensic analysis of the devices is currently underway.
All the suspects are in police custody assisting with investigations and will be processed and arraigned before court in accordance with the law.
