Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, cuts sod for CHPS compound, classroom block at Agorgbe and Lakpo

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has cut sod for the construction of a CHPS compound with ancillary facilities at Agorgbe and a three-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Lakpo in the South Tongu District.

According to him, the classroom block, when completed, will provide a Headteacher’s office, staff common room, stores and toilet facilities to improve teaching and learning outcomes in the Lakpo community.

Hon. Gunu said the projects reflect government’s commitment, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, to strengthening decentralisation and ensuring that development reaches every district.

He stressed that development projects will not only be started but also completed across communities.

He appealed to residents of Lakpo to cooperate fully with the contractor and support the project to ensure quality work and timely completion.

As part of his visit, the Regional Minister donated GH¢20,000 towards the Lakpo water project under his Water for All initiative. He commended the community for also contributing financially to the water project, describing it as a sign of strong ownership and commitment to development.

He acknowledged the efforts of the District Chief Executive for South Tongu, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, the Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Hon. Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, and other stakeholders for their support.
