NDC grassroots members must be recognised – Mac-Billions Bansah

Mr Mac-Billions Bansah, Deputy Communications Officer of the Ho Central Constituency, has urged the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the John Dramani Mahama-led government to recognise and reward the party’s grassroots members whose dedication contributed to its return to power.

In a statement titled “Remember the Hands That Built the Victory,” Mr Bansah reminded the new administration that political power is transient and must be wielded wisely to strengthen governance and party unity.

“History has shown that power belongs not to those who hold it today, but to those who use it wisely,” he said.

He emphasised that the NDC’s electoral success was made possible by the tireless efforts of foot soldiers, ward executives, and community organisers. “Our grassroots comrades were not just chanting ‘Tsooboi’ during the campaign; they were the backbone of our struggle and the reason our victory became reality,” he added.

Mr Bansah cautioned against sidelining those who work diligently at the local level once governance begins. “It would be a grave mistake to make them feel useful only during campaigns and rallies but forgotten when it is time to share in the rewards of governance,” he warned.

He called on the Mahama administration’s Reset Ghana Agenda to not only focus on national reforms but also to repair and strengthen internal party relationships. “True progress begins at home. As we rebuild Ghana, let us rebuild the trust and morale of our people,” he urged.

A member of the Volta Regional Communications Team, Mr Bansah, noted that a strong and motivated base is crucial to sustaining the NDC’s vision and electoral dominance. “A loyal base that feels forgotten soon becomes silent, and silence at the base is the loudest threat to any political movement,” he said.

He called for deliberate inclusion, fairness, and recognition in political appointments, job placements, and development opportunities. “When the base feels seen and valued, the party becomes unstoppable,” he emphasised.

“Power is transient, but legacy is lasting. Let us honour the hands that built this victory, for they are the foundation upon which our future stands,” Mr Bansah concluded, appealing to the party leadership to ensure equitable treatment for all members who contributed to the NDC’s success.
