The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Kunsu on December 7, 2025.
The suspects were arrested on January 21, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m., following an intelligence-led operation carried out by personnel of the Regional Anti-Robbery Unit in Kumasi, in collaboration with officers from the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Directorate (NOD) at the Police Headquarters in Accra. The operation took place at Kunsu in the Ashanti Region.
The suspects have been identified as Yahaya Siedu, also known as “Diamond,” aged 34; Atta Israel, also known as “Abode3” or “Stone,” aged 32; Victor Gyan, known as “City Boy,” aged 26; and Stanley Wiafe Akanten, also called “Figo,” aged 30.

Police investigations indicate that the four are members of a criminal syndicate responsible for a series of robbery cases in Kunsu and its surrounding communities.
A search conducted in the room of Yahaya Siedu led to the recovery of two pump-action guns, three cutlasses, five mobile phones, twenty-two BB cartridges, and an amount of GHS 5,400.00.
One of the firearms, a Pardus shotgun, was confirmed to have been stolen during the robbery incident that occurred on December 7, 2025, along the Kunsu–Mankranso road.
According to the police, the suspects have admitted to conspiring to rob miners of cash, gold concentrate, and other valuables. They are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations.
