Black Sherif marks 24th birthday with remarkable music milestones

Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif, popularly known as Black Sherif, has turned 24 years old today, January 9, marking another milestone in an already outstanding music career.

At just 24, Black Sherif has achieved feats many artists spend a lifetime pursuing. He rose to prominence with hit songs such as First Sermon, Second Sermon remix featuring Burna Boy, and the global anthem Kwaku the Traveller, which propelled him onto the international stage.

He has released two major albums ,The Villain I Never Was in 2022 and the record-breaking Iron Boy in 2025 ,both of which dominated charts and streaming platforms, making him Ghana‘s most streamed artist in consecutive years.

Black Sherif’s success has also been recognised with several prestigious awards.

These include Artist of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2023, Best International Flow at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2023, Best Hip Hop at the Soundcity MVP Awards in 2023, West African Artist of the Year at The Headies in 2023, and Performer of the Year at the 3Music Awards in 2024.

He has also earned a nomination for Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards and has performed on major global stages such as Wireless Festival and AfroNation.

As he celebrates his 24th birthday, Black Sherif’s journey continues to stand as a testament to talent, hard work, and resilience, with many anticipating even greater achievements ahead.
