The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with the Greater Accra Regional Command and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, has conducted two major operations targeting organised cybercrime activities across the country.
In the first operation at Sakumono in the Greater Accra Region, security agencies dismantled a SIM box fraud network used to illegally route international calls and facilitate related cyber-enabled crimes.
The raid led to the arrest of three Nigerian nationals believed to be key operators of the network, along with a Ghanaian landlord alleged to have provided premises for the illegal operation.

SIM box fraud is a serious cybercrime that undermines telecommunications systems, causes revenue losses to the state, and is often linked to broader criminal activities including financial fraud and identity theft.
In a separate but related operation at Vakpo in the Volta Region, authorities arrested a three-member Ghanaian syndicate involved in impersonation, sextortion, and mobile money (MoMo) fraud.
Investigations indicate that the suspects used social engineering tactics to deceive victims, extort money, and unlawfully access mobile money accounts.
The CSA commended the coordinated efforts of the security agencies, noting that the operations form part of a broader national strategy to disrupt cybercriminal networks and protect the digital ecosystem.
Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that all suspects will be processed in accordance with the law. The CSA also urged citizens to remain vigilant, report suspicious online activities, and adopt safe digital practices as cybercriminals continue to evolve their methods.
