The court granted him GH₵100,000 bail with three sureties, following a bail application by his lawyers.
The court further instructed the prosecution to file and serve all disclosures on the accused ahead of the next hearing.
The case has been adjourned to December 30, 2025.
According to the prosecution, the matter began on September 4, 2025, when the complainant intercepted widely circulated video footage, shared across platforms including YouTube, showing the accused making statements allegedly intended to cause fear and panic.
Prosecutors said the remarks contained offensive allegations against Rev. Owusu Bempah and were capable of provoking a breach of the peace.
The court heard that Appiah made the statements during a livestream and later distributed the audio and video recordings across several platforms, including a YouTube channel identified as “SourcetubeTv.”
A formal complaint to the Police led to his arrest. Investigators secured a forensic capture of the videos and audios, which were transcribed into written scripts with assistance from the Ghana Institute of Languages.
