The Bono East Regional Police Command has restored calm at Kwame Danso in the Sene West District after a violent mob attack on the District Court and the District Police Headquarters on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, an incident that forced the temporary closure of both police facilities.
The disturbance erupted at about 10:30 a.m. while the Kwame Danso District Court was in session.
An irate mob, estimated at about 100 youths, besieged the court premises, attacking people within the compound and vandalising furniture, fans and other items in sight.

In the chaos, the youths forcibly took away two accused persons who were standing trial and assaulted the complainant in the case.
The violence later spilled over to the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters, where the mob attacked two officers who were on duty and vandalised parts of the police station.
A reinforcement team from the Atebubu Division, supported by a detachment of the Formed Police Units (FPUs), was deployed to the area and succeeded in restoring order.
Following the incident, and on the instructions of the Inspector-General of Police, the Kwame Danso Police Station and the District Police Headquarters have been closed down, with personnel reassigned to other parts of the region until further notice.
The Bono East Regional Police Command has assured the public that all persons connected to the criminal acts will be pursued, identified, arrested and made to face the full consequences of the law
