The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect seen in a viral video discharging a firearm at a public event at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
In a press release dated December 30, 2025, the Police said the arrest was carried out by the Cyber Vetting Team at the CID Headquarters following the circulation of the video, which showed the suspect firing a gun at the event held on December 28, 2025.
The suspect has been identified as Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as “Cyborg.” He was arrested on December 29, 2025 at Adenta for possession and discharge of a firearm.

Police said the weapon involved, a Derya MK-12 firearm with registration number 22-GHA-1162, has been retrieved and secured as evidence.
According to the CID, the suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and will be put before the court to face justice.
The Ghana Police Service has cautioned the general public that possession of a registered firearm does not give the holder the right to discharge it indiscriminately, warning that firearm licences can be revoked and offenders charged in accordance with the law.
