The Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has announced a set of security measures to be observed by the general public to ensure a peaceful and incident-free festive season in the region.
The decision was taken at a REGSEC meeting held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and communicated in a press release dated December 24, 2025.
According to the release, security presence across the region will be intensified throughout the festive period, with joint operations involving both the Police and the Military to protect lives and property.

REGSEC has also directed that motorbikes without registration numbers or functioning lights are not permitted to operate on the roads during this period. In addition, the sale, purchase and use of firecrackers have been strictly prohibited.
Members of the public have been advised to be mindful of their personal security, particularly at their residences. REGSEC further warned that any action or inaction that threatens peace and security during the festive season will be dealt with decisively by the security services.
The Council assured the public of government’s commitment to maintaining law and order and stated that all necessary measures are being put in place to ensure a safe environment for all residents in the Ashanti Region.
The statement was signed by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr Frank Amoakohene, who wished the public a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
