Former NPP Flagbearer for 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accompanied by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has continued his campaign engagements in the Ashanti Region, making stops at Ejura, Mampong, and Boamang on Saturday, 17th January, 2026.
Addressing delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the various locations, Dr. Bawumia reiterated his readiness to lead the party at what he described as a critical stage in its political journey. He outlined his vision for rebuilding and repositioning the party ahead of future electoral contests.
The Vice President emphasized the need for unity within the party, calling on delegates to rally behind the NPP’s symbol, the elephant, and work collectively toward securing victory. He stressed that internal cohesion would be essential to the party’s success moving forward.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh, who joined the campaign tour, echoed the call for solidarity and engagement with party structures at the grassroots level, as the NPP prepares for its internal leadership decisions.
The Ashanti Region tour forms part of Dr. Bawumia’s broader outreach to party delegates nationwide as he seeks the party’s mandate to lead.
