Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has reiterated his strong support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the preferred leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing him as the right choice at a critical moment in the party’s history.
Speaking earlier today on Asempa FM’s flagship current affairs programme, Ekosii Sen, during an engaging discussion with host Osei Bonsu (OB), Dr. Opoku Prempeh shared his reflections on the state of the party and the ongoing internal processes ahead of the upcoming selection.
He emphasized the need for a peaceful, transparent, and credible process as the party approaches its crucial decision-making point on Saturday. According to him, unity and discipline remain essential to sustaining the strength and credibility of the NPP.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious from the process, regardless of the outcome, stressing that party cohesion must take precedence over individual preferences.
He affirmed that once a candidate is chosen, the entire party would rally behind that leader to advance its collective goals.
Reiterating his optimism, he stated that the NPP, symbolised by the elephant, would prevail through unity and shared commitment, underscoring his belief in the party’s resilience and democratic values.
