The Government of Ghana has announced, with deep regret, the untimely passing of Her Excellency Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady and founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Government Communications, the government confirmed that Mrs Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, after a short illness.
The statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament and Spokesperson to the President as well as Minister of Government Communications, expressed the administration’s sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved family.

“Government extends its deepest condolences to her immediate family,” the statement read.
Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was widely celebrated for her lifelong dedication to women’s empowerment, grassroots development, and her pioneering role in shaping Ghana’s democratic and social landscape.
