Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has called on party delegates to embrace principled leadership as the party prepares for its internal contests and future national elections.
Addressing party supporters and delegates, Mr Agyepong stressed that the strength and credibility of the NPP depend on integrity, discipline, and adherence to the party’s founding values.
He cautioned against actions and decisions driven by personal ambition, factional interests, or short-term political gains.

According to him, the party must return to its core principles of democracy, accountability, and service to the Ghanaian people if it is to regain public trust and remain competitive on the national stage.
He urged delegates to critically assess aspirants based on character, competence, and commitment to the party’s ideals rather than material inducements or pressure from political blocs.
Hon.Agyepong noted that the choices delegates make at this critical period will shape the future direction of the NPP and determine its ability to unite its base and appeal to the wider electorate.
He emphasised that leadership rooted in values, not convenience, is essential for rebuilding confidence within the party.
He therefore appealed to delegates to act with conscience and courage, insisting that principled leadership is the surest path to restoring the NPP’s moral authority and long-term electoral success.
