The KAA 2028 Campaign has refuted widespread rumours suggesting that Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has withdrawn from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership race.
In a statement signed by Nana Ama Asantewaa Kwarko, Spokesperson for the campaign, the team described the claims as false, baseless, and misleading, insisting that Ing. Agyepong remains “actively in the race and fully pursuing his vision of Renewal and Hope for both the NPP and Ghana.”
According to the campaign, similar falsehoods had surfaced in the past, referencing a 2014 incident when Ing. Agyepong was involved in a serious accident en route to Tamale.

After the accident, some claimed he was bedridden and unfit to serve as General Secretary – a narrative later disproved by his recovery and continued service to the party.
“The latest attempt to mislead the public follows the same tired playbook and will fail again,” the statement noted.
The campaign suggested that the persistent attacks stem from growing unease among opponents who recognise Ing. Agyepong’s credibility and deep institutional knowledge of the NPP. It described him as “the only candidate who carries the grace, discipline, and credibility to lead the NPP to power in 2028.”
It further highlighted his decades-long record of loyalty, service, and integrity, which, according to the team, continues to attract strong grassroots support across the country.
Reaffirming his message to delegates and supporters, Ing. Agyepong stated: “With KAA, the NPP has a clear path to unity and victory. We need a pair of clean hands, a clear mind, and a compassionate heart to lead our party and this nation.”
The campaign emphasised that his focus remains unwavering, adding that “Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong continues to press forward with optimism and willpower.”
It urged party members and the public to disregard the misinformation and remain focused on the larger mission of “restoring the soul of the NPP and rekindling hope in the people of Ghana.”
