President John Dramani Mahama has constituted a Presidential Advisory Group on the Economy (PAGE) as part of renewed efforts to stabilise Ghana‘s economy and accelerate inclusive, job-rich growth.
The announcement, released by the Presidency on Thursday, January 15, 2026, underscores government’s determination to restore macroeconomic stability, strengthen fiscal sustainability, and reposition the economy under the Reset Agenda, with a strong focus on the 24-Hour Economy and the Accelerated Export Development Programme.
According to the statement, the establishment of PAGE reflects the President‘s resolve to draw on high-level national and international expertise to support sound economic governance, strategic policy coordination, and evidence-based decision-making at a critical time for the country.

Strategic Role of PAGE
PAGE will serve as a high-level advisory body to the President, providing independent, non-partisan economic advice. Its mandate covers strategic guidance on macroeconomic management, fiscal consolidation, debt sustainability, and the alignment of fiscal and monetary policies.
The Group will also advise on structural transformation, industrialisation, competitiveness, export-led growth, private sector development, investment mobilisation, and sustainable job creation.
In addition, PAGE will support the design and implementation of key national reforms, including productivity-enhancing initiatives, and conduct periodic assessments of Ghana’s economic performance, proposing corrective measures where needed.
The advisory body will further contribute expert input to Ghana’s negotiations and engagements with development partners, international financial institutions, and global investors.
Distinguished Membership
PAGE is chaired by President Mahama and brings together respected figures from academia, public service, and the private sector.
Members include Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, private sector leaders Ishmael Yamson, Sir Sam Jonah, and Togbe Afede XIV, as well as seasoned economists such as Kwame Pianim, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, and former Bank of Ghana Governors Dr. Henry A. Kofi Wampah.
The Group also features Abena Amoah, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Stock Exchange, and distinguished academic researchers, ensuring a blend of policy insight, technical expertise, and practical experience.
The Presidency indicated that PAGE will report directly to the President and submit advisory memoranda and strategic briefs as required, reinforcing government’s commitment to informed policymaking and sustainable economic recovery.
