General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has underscored the importance of accountability and transparency in public service, stressing that no individual, regardless of position, should be immune from scrutiny.
In a recent statement, Asiedu Nketia emphasized that protecting public funds is a non-negotiable responsibility for all leaders and public officials.
He warned against misuse or mismanagement of resources, noting that Ghanaian taxpayers deserve to see their contributions utilized effectively for national development.

Highlighting recent issues in governance, he called on government institutions and oversight bodies to enforce strict compliance with financial regulations and ensure that those found violating the law are held accountable.
“Public service is a trust, and the public must be assured that funds allocated for development projects are safeguarded,” he said.
Asiedu Nketia further urged citizens to remain vigilant and demand transparency from public officials, asserting that a culture of accountability strengthens democracy and promotes equitable development.
His comments come amid heightened public discourse on corruption and the management of state resources in Ghana.
The NDC leader concluded by reaffirming the party’s commitment to supporting measures that enforce the rule of law and protect public finances, reinforcing the principle that in Ghana, no one is above the law
