Davis Ansah Opoku, MP, reported that over the past two days, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) engaged several public institutions to review findings from the Auditor General’s reports.
The committee’s review covered critical entities including the Bank of Ghana, Ghana Revenue Authority, Ministry of Finance and its agencies, Ghana Education Service, local government authorities, and transport sector institutions such as the Ghana Airports Company, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Ghana Shippers’ Authority, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, and Volta Lake Transport Company.
Key issues highlighted included the management of foreign exchange receipts and payments, revenue assurance, oversight of petroleum revenues, and accountability in public fund administration.

Notably, serious gaps were identified in the provision and maintenance of toilet facilities in public schools, raising concerns about sanitation and dignity.
PAC acknowledged areas of improvement where evident, while issuing clear directives where lapses persist, emphasizing that oversight aims to strengthen institutions, protect public resources, and ensure accountability to the Ghanaian people. The committee’s work is ongoing.
