The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has officially announced the commencement of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
According to a Constitutional Instrument issued by the Office of the Speaker, the Second Session will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, at Parliament House in Accra.
The directive was made in accordance with clause (1) of Article 112 of the 1992 Constitution, which empowers the Speaker to appoint the time and place for the commencement of parliamentary sessions.

The instrument, dated 19 January 2026, formally sets the stage for the resumption of parliamentary business following the conclusion of the First Session.
It provides the legal and constitutional basis for Members of Parliament to reconvene and continue legislative, oversight, and representative duties.
The commencement of the Second Session is expected to mark a renewed focus on legislative priorities, policy debates, and national development issues central to Ghana‘s democratic governance.
