Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has represented President John Dramani Mahama at the 93rd Jalsa Salana of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community held in Winneba, describing the convention as a strong reminder of the values of peace, dialogue and national unity.
Speaking at the annual gathering, the Vice President commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for its long-standing commitment to peace, integrity and national development, noting that the community’s motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None,” remains relevant to Ghana‘s social and religious harmony.
The Vice President said the theme of the summit, “Moral Decadence and Our Responsibilities in the Light of Islamic Teachings,” highlights the shared moral duty of citizens and leaders to uphold integrity, oppose injustice and act responsibly. She noted that Islamic teachings, particularly from the Quran, underscore the importance of ethical leadership and moral courage in building a strong nation.

She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency, stressing improved coordination among key anti-corruption agencies and the enforcement of a strong Code of Conduct for public officials.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang also highlighted the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s contributions to national development, particularly in agriculture.
She said the Pomadze Poultry Initiative is progressing and aligns with government programmes such as Feed Ghana and Nkoko Nkitinkiti to boost domestic poultry production, create jobs, stabilise prices and improve food security.
Beyond agriculture, she acknowledged the community’s investments in education, healthcare and humanitarian services, including the role of Lajna Imaillah, the women’s wing of the community.
She further outlined progress made under the current administration in areas such as economic stabilisation, education and health reforms, youth skills development, infrastructure, good governance and social equity.
The Vice President thanked Ghanaians for the trust reposed in President Mahama’s administration and urged citizens to remain committed to faith, unity and service to the nation.
