The Anlo Senior High School Alumni Association (ANSSOSA Global) has donated 100 mono desks to the school as part of an ongoing effort to enhance teaching and learning conditions.
The donation, presented by Mr Kplorla Mensa Gbekor of the 1980 year group and supported by Mr Silas Aidam, President of the 1985 year group, forms part of a broader alumni-led initiative to address the school’s long-standing furniture deficit.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr Gbekor said the gesture reflects the alumni’s commitment to ensuring students have access to a comfortable and conducive learning environment.

He noted that the latest support adds to previous contributions,200 mono desks donated by the diaspora branch and another 100 desks from the 1985 year group—bringing the total number of desks delivered so far to 400. ANSSOSA Global aims to donate 800 desks in total to fully meet the school’s furniture needs.
“We believe every student deserves the right environment to learn, and we urge all old students to join this cause,” Mr Gbekor said, adding that the contributions are funded through voluntary donations from former students.
He also appealed to the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education to prioritise the school’s infrastructure needs, stressing that government support remains essential to improving educational outcomes.
Mr Aidam explained that the initiative began after a former Headmaster, Mr Wisdom Kwame Adeti, raised concerns about the furniture shortage during the 1985 year group’s 40th anniversary celebration. Since then, several year groups have contributed to improving facilities and academic standards.
School authorities, represented by Assistant Headmaster of Academics Mr Felix Amegbor and Assistant Headmistress of Administration Madam Joyce Afi Avorkliya, expressed gratitude to the alumni for the continuous support.
They assured the donors that the items would be used for their intended purpose and called for further assistance, particularly in providing bunk beds for boarding students.
