The Darul Hadith Institute has cautioned the Attorney General over remarks it says carry serious national security implications, warning that such statements could embolden intolerance and discrimination while setting a precedent that undermines Ghana‘s legal and moral foundations.
The organisation has urged the Attorney General to reconsider, retract, or clarify his position in accordance with the Constitution.
Appealing directly to the President, Darul Hadith called for swift intervention, clear national direction, and firm assurance that the religious rights of all students, Muslim, Christian, and others, will be fully protected.

It stressed that the issue goes beyond administrative concerns, touching on the spiritual well-being, dignity, and constitutional freedoms of citizens. Any delay, it noted, risks generating unnecessary tension within schools and across religious communities.
Addressing the role of mission schools, the Institute acknowledged their historic contribution to Ghana’s moral and educational development but insisted that their identities cannot supersede constitutional obligations.
It said inclusivity, respect for diversity, and equal treatment of all students must remain uncompromised.
Reaffirming its stance, Darul Hadith outlined its commitment to unrestricted worship for Muslim students, zero tolerance for religious discrimination in public schools, and peaceful coexistence grounded in justice and fairness.
The Institute expressed readiness to collaborate with government, mission authorities, and religious bodies toward peaceful and lawful solutions.
It also called on Ghanaians to join efforts to safeguard the rights of every child to worship freely, protecting the nation’s cohesion and constitutional values.
