The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched investigations into an alleged feeding situation at Savelugu Senior High School following the circulation of a video on social media.

The statement was signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Education Service. Issued on 16th January 2026, it reaffirmed GES management’s commitment to ensuring quality feeding for students nationwide and stressed that any form of mismanagement within the feeding system would be treated as a serious offence.

According to the Service, student feeding nationwide has generally seen significant improvement in recent times, largely due to effective collaboration between the Buffer Stock Company and school heads. GES, however, acknowledged the concerns raised in the video and assured the public that the matter is being addressed.

The Service clarified that the situation at Savelugu Senior High School is an isolated case and does not reflect the overall feeding status in schools nationwide. Investigations have already been initiated to establish the facts surrounding the incident.

As part of measures to strengthen oversight, GES announced that its monitoring team will intensify unannounced visits to schools to ensure compliance with feeding standards.

GES further urged stakeholders, particularly school heads, to promptly report any unusual challenges to management to allow for timely intervention.
