Prof. Dwomoh announced that KsTU had, for the third consecutive year, won the prestigious Women in Engineering (WINE) Competition, securing victories in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
He commended the faculty, coaches and students for their ingenuity and commitment.
He also drew attention to the university’s impressive performance on the global stage, revealing that KsTU represented Ghana with distinction by emerging as the overall best African competitor in CNC Turning, and placing second in the Africa Technology Challenge, where it competed against 13 countries.
These feats, he said, affirmed the university’s growing reputation as a hub for applied sciences and technical expertise.
Prof. Dwomoh noted that KsTU remains the only technical university in Ghana accredited to run both pre-engineering and doctoral programmes.
The university currently offers four doctoral degrees, PhD in Applied Statistics, and Doctor of Technology programmes in Civil Engineering, Automotive Engineering and Chemical Engineering, alongside 38 master’s programmes, 70 bachelor’s degree programmes, 23 HND programmes and 26 diploma options.
He said the expansion of academic offerings formed part of a broader strategy to position KsTU as a continental leader in technical and vocational education.
The Vice Chancellor acknowledged government support as a contributor to the university’s progress.
He cited the recent provision of 65 state-of-the-art electrical and electronic panels and accessories from GETFund, as well as a 20 KVA generator to enhance laboratory operations and bolster industry-relevant training.
Reflecting on the university’s ongoing 70th Anniversary celebrations, he said the milestone had amplified stakeholder engagement and showcased KsTU’s transformation over seven decades.
Prof. Dwomoh encouraged graduates to take advantage of the university’s diverse academic pathways, especially those wishing to further their education.
He urged them to be innovative, proactive and principled as they transition into the professional world, reminding them of the significant investment made in their training.
