Over 1,000 global education leaders to attend 2025 World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi

More than 1,000 education leaders, policymakers, innovators, and stakeholders from Ghana and around the world are expected to gather in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from November 15 to 16, 2025, for the World Schools Summit.

The summit, hosted by T4 Education, Aldar Education, and the Emirates Foundation, with support from the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), seeks to address some of the most pressing challenges confronting global education systems.

Supported by global partners such as Microsoft, Google, HP, the International Baccalaureate Organisation, Prometric, Edmentum, Inicio Partners, Best School to Work, Carter Fleet, Education Leaders Forum, and Magrudy’s, the event will explore how education can drive leadership and positive global change.

Key themes for discussion include climate change, artificial intelligence (AI), peacebuilding, and inequality, with an emphasis on how education can serve as a tool for sustainable transformation.

Prominent speakers lined up include Ben Gomes, Chief Technologist for Learning and Sustainability at Google; Angeline Murimirwa, CEO of CAMFED and one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025; Theron Feemster, Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer; Angela Meikle, Global Head of IB World Schools; and Amit Patel, Managing Director of Owl Ventures.

Other notable speakers are Rebecca Winthrop of the Brookings Institution, Rod Smith from Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Ahmed Taleb Al Shamsi of Emirates Foundation, Sahar Cooper of Aldar Education, and Andria Zafirakou MBE, Global Teacher Prize Winner. Representatives from Microsoft, HP, and several education ministers from around the world are also expected to participate.

A major highlight will be the Global EdTech Prize, launched in partnership with Owl Ventures and Digital Promise, to recognise innovative technology solutions transforming education. Finalists will pitch their ideas live, with winners chosen through educator voting.

Speaking ahead of the event, Eunice Ogolo, Director of Girl Capital – Africa at CIFF, said the summit would be a platform for “bold ideas to help children and adolescents in Ghana and across Africa thrive in a rapidly changing world.”

Vikas Pota, Founder of T4 Education and the World Schools Summit, added that education must remain central in tackling global challenges such as climate change, inequality, and technological disruption.

Caroline Mutepfa, Director of Microsoft Elevate, said the tech giant would showcase AI-driven tools and personalised learning solutions to empower teachers and students.

The 2025 World Schools Summit is expected to foster collaboration, innovation, and leadership across global education systems and help shape the future of learning worldwide.
