Key stakeholders in the Ketu North Municipality have cut sod for the commencement of major infrastructure projects at Afife Senior High Technical School, marking a significant step toward improving facilities at one of the least resourced schools in the area.
The sod-cutting ceremony was led by Hon. James Gunu, in the company of the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana; the Member of Parliament for Ho West and Board Chairman of GETFund, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah; and the Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu North, Hon. Rev. Martin Amenaki.
Afife Senior High Technical School, established in 1994, revamped in 1998 and absorbed by government in 2003, has for years struggled with inadequate infrastructure despite its long-standing contribution to education in the municipality.

The new projects are expected to significantly improve teaching, learning, and student welfare.
The approved projects include a two-storey girls’ dormitory block with a courtyard, a two-storey boys’ dormitory block with a courtyard, a two-storey administration and library block, and a 24-seater toilet facility.
When completed, these facilities are expected to ease congestion, improve sanitation, and enhance academic administration within the school.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. James Gunu described the development as clear evidence that the government’s Resetting Agenda is translating into tangible improvements in the education sector.
He assured contractors of prompt payment upon successful completion of the projects and stressed the importance of strict supervision, accountability, and quality workmanship to ensure value for money.
The initiative has been welcomed by school authorities and community members, who expressed optimism that the new infrastructure will help create a more conducive learning environment and improve educational outcomes at Afife Senior High Technical School.
