Ten Ghanaian Students Participate in Huawei’s 2025 “Seeds for the Future” Programme in China

Ten Ghanaian university students have benefitted from the 2025 edition of Huawei’s flagship global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Seeds for the Future,” held in China.

The programme, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, featured participants from the University of Professional Studies, Accra; Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; Ho Technical University; Ghana Communications Technology University; Data Link Institute of Business and Technology; and the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development.

According to a statement issued in Accra, the training programme took place from October 20–26, 2025, in Dongguan and Shenzhen, bringing together more than 150 students globally. Participants received hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, and Smart City innovations.

During the week-long training, the students toured smart photovoltaic sites, explored Huawei’s Sanyapo and Xicun campuses, and visited advanced laboratories and exhibition halls showcasing the company’s latest technology. They also engaged with other tech firms in Shenzhen to learn about drone innovation, gaming technology, and China’s evolving digital ecosystem.

The programme also included cultural immersion activities. Participants visited the Shenzhen Museum and took part in a “Global Village” project where students from 10 countries, including Ghana, showcased their unique cultural heritage.
The statement noted that the initiative strengthened international collaboration and fostered cross-cultural friendships, reflecting Huawei’s mission to build global connections through technology.

Since its introduction in Ghana in 2015, the “Seeds for the Future” programme has benefited more than 300 students nationwide, helping bridge the gap between academia and industry while nurturing young Ghanaian talent for the growing ICT sector.
