The National Sports Authority (NSA) in the Volta Region has expressed gratitude to Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, and Mr Stephen Adom, Ho Municipal Chief Executive, for their support in the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ho Sports Stadium.
The facility, long in a state of disrepair, is undergoing extensive upgrades, including improvements to the drainage system, new toilet facilities, replacement of stadium seats, installation of shade structures for open stands, and clearing of weeds.
Additional works include comprehensive painting, levelling of the stadium compound, and other enhancements aligned with modern stadium standards.

A statement signed by Madam Philippina Frimpong, Volta Regional Director of NSA, described the rehabilitation as a significant boost for sports development in the region.
“These improvements will strengthen the stadium’s capacity to support sporting activities, athlete development, community recreation, and the hosting of major events,” the statement noted. It added that the upgraded facility will provide a more conducive environment for training, competitions, and youth engagement.
The statement further acknowledged the leadership of Honourable James Gunu, stating that his dedication has placed sports in the Volta Region on a path of revitalisation and inspired renewed confidence in the growth of sports infrastructure.
The NSA reiterated its commitment to work with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Ho Municipal Assembly, and other stakeholders to ensure the stadium remains a functional and proud symbol of progress for the region.
The upgrades are being completed ahead of two major upcoming events at the stadium: the seventh Volta Trade and Investment Fair from November 26 to December 8, and the National Farmers’ Day celebrations on December 5.
