The Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) at the Police Headquarters, reaffirming the strong institutional partnership between the Judiciary and the Ghana Police Service.
The visit underscored the shared responsibility of both institutions in upholding the rule of law, safeguarding democratic governance, and ensuring effective administration of justice across the country.
Justice Baffoe-Bonnie highlighted the critical role of the Police Service as the frontline of law enforcement, whose professionalism and efficiency directly impact the credibility and effectiveness of the justice delivery system.

He emphasized the need for sustained collaboration, particularly in areas such as criminal investigations, case management, and the timely prosecution of cases.
According to the Chief Justice, improved coordination between the courts and the police is essential to reducing delays, strengthening public confidence in the justice system, and protecting the rights of citizens.
The Inspector-General of Police welcomed the Chief Justice and expressed appreciation for the engagement, describing it as a demonstration of mutual respect and institutional harmony.
The IGP reiterated the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to professionalism, respect for human rights, and strict adherence to due process in the execution of its mandate.
He also assured the Chief Justice of the Service’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the Judiciary, especially in supporting judicial processes, enhancing investigations, and enforcing court orders.
The courtesy call provided an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on emerging security and justice-related challenges, and to explore practical ways of strengthening collaboration between the two institutions in the interest of national peace, security, and justice.
