Two timber guards of ADRAS Timber Company Limited have been gruesomely murdered by a mob of illegal chainsaw operators at Nsuhia in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region.
The victims, identified as 34-year-old Sani Aliyu and 35-year-old Ibrahim Musa, were reportedly on duty at the Mpamso Forest near Nsuhia when the assailants, numbering about 200 and armed with guns, machetes, and other weapons, attacked them.
According to a statement issued by the Bono Regional Police Command and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, the armed group not only killed the guards but also set ablaze a Toyota pickup with registration number GT 3079-17 belonging to the timber company.

Police officers who visited the scene found the bodies of the deceased lying about 100 meters apart, both bearing multiple gunshot wounds. The bodies have since been deposited at the Dormaa-Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The Police Command indicated that investigations into the attack are ongoing and warned the public against engaging in or supporting acts of lawlessness.
