The Obuasi Police Command has apprehended 40 individuals during coordinated early-morning operations targeting criminal and drug-related activities in Obuasi and surrounding areas.
The raids, conducted on Tuesday, December 16, between 5:00 a.m. and 10:20 a.m., were led by ASP Adam Muakalu and involved personnel from the Divisional Operations Unit, Obuasi District Police, and the Formed Police Unit (FPU) Obuasi Base.
Operations spanned several locations, including Bedieso, Kunka Junction, Abompe, and Akaporiso. At Bedieso, officers arrested eight suspects and confiscated a black polythene bag containing dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.

The Obuasi Police Command stated that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on criminal networks and drug-related activities, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining security and public safety in the municipality.
Authorities indicated that investigations are ongoing, and the arrested individuals are expected to face prosecution under relevant Ghanaian laws.
