The Ministry of Health has announced the disbursement of GHS 462 million to support the training allowances of 120,000 nursing students nationwide, fulfilling a key campaign promise made by President John Dramani Mahama.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the statement was signed by Tony Goodman, Deputy Director and Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health.
The payment covers a six-month period and forms part of a broader government initiative to offer financial relief to students in Nurses Training Colleges. Disbursements are scheduled to begin today and continue through to next Friday.

The Ministry described the development as a significant boost to the welfare of nursing trainees and an important step in motivating the next generation of health professionals.
It said the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen the health sector by ensuring that essential human resources receive adequate support during training.
Appreciation was extended to President Mahama and all stakeholders involved in the timely release and distribution of the funds.
