Women in Tech Ghana has renewed its commitment to empowering 50,000 women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) by 2030, reinforcing its mission to expand opportunities and build a stronger pipeline of female innovators.
Country Manager Mrs Luvina Sandra Atsu announced the pledge at the organisation’s first anniversary celebration in Accra, held under the theme “Breaking Barriers, Building the Future for Women in STEAM.”
She described the milestone as a testament to courage, collaboration and the belief in creating a community where women inspire one another into leadership and innovation.

Reflecting on progress made, Mrs Atsu highlighted mentorship programmes, digital literacy training, coding workshops and career guidance activities that have equipped girls in underserved communities with skills and confidence needed in an evolving digital world.
She noted that the Chapter’s work aligns with the global Women in Tech vision of reaching five million women and girls through education, business support, digital inclusion and advocacy.
She stressed that achieving the 2030 target would require deeper partnerships and sustained investment in mentorship, skills development and community-driven programmes.
She encouraged women and girls to remain bold and imaginative as Ghana moves toward a future where women are central to STEAM growth.
Managing Director of DennisLaw Ghana, Mrs Joana Kyeremateng, urged young women to embrace courage, confidence and community as they forge paths in STEAM.
She said the rapid growth of Women in Tech Ghana showed a rising determination among young women to break barriers despite persistent structural and cultural challenges.
Mrs Kyeremateng commended the organisation for building an inclusive space that nurtures learning, collaboration and leadership, a critical asset in Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
Providing an overview of programme impact, Mrs Gloria Opoku Anti, Managing Director at the Jospong Group of Companies, outlined key achievements such as virtual training initiatives, school outreach activities and webinars that expanded access and strengthened visibility.
She noted that partnerships with Academy Achievers, KPMG, MTN and others had opened new pathways for women entering the tech ecosystem.
Mrs Anti described the interventions as catalysts for real change, increasing confidence, inspiring new ambitions and promoting female leadership in digital spaces.
She expressed appreciation to supporters, including ECG, Zoomlion, Forest Group Hotel, volunteers and individuals whose contributions made the chapter’s achievements possible.
