The Africa Digital Rights Hub LBG (ADRH) will host the 2025 Data Protection Africa Summit in Accra from December 1 to 4, 2025, providing a platform for participants from across Africa to gain knowledge, network, and explore emerging trends in digital rights and data protection.
Organised in partnership with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana, the four-day summit will run under the theme: “Defining Africa’s Digital Future: from Consumerism to Partnership.”
It will convene cybersecurity experts, policymakers, researchers, regulators, tech innovators, data controllers and processors, as well as the broader business and technology community.

The event will focus on the rapid digital transformation across Africa, driven by technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and big data analytics, while addressing the critical need to protect personal information and promote responsible digital practices.
A key highlight is the PICCASO Awards Africa, in collaboration with the U.K.-based PICCASO organisation, which will recognise excellence in data privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, and data ethics.
Ms Teki Akuetteh, Executive Director of ADRH, emphasised that the summit will provide participants with opportunities to share insights, foster collaboration, celebrate innovation, and strengthen the data protection ecosystem across the continent.
