KMA announces metro-wide clean-up exercise for Saturday, January 10

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced an all-inclusive clean-up exercise to be carried out across the entire metropolis on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Assembly, the exercise forms part of government’s sanitation efforts and will take place from 6:00am to 12:00 noon.

The KMA directed that all trading and commercial activities within the metropolis, particularly in the Central Business District (CBD), must remain closed until 12 noon to allow full participation by individuals and corporate bodies.

The Assembly further cautioned commercial vehicle drivers that no vehicles will be allowed to operate within designated operational areas during the exercise.

These areas include Otumfuo Roundabout to MTN Roundabout to Zoo Roundabout, Roman Hill down to Aboabo Station Crossroads through Alabar to Apagyafie Crossroads, Apagyafie Crossroads through Dr. Mensah to Otumfuo Roundabout, MTN Roundabout, and the entire CBD.

The KMA expressed confidence that traders, corporate entities, commercial drivers, and residents will comply fully with the directive.
