The Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, officially launched the Think Prisons 360 Degrees Initiative on 12th December 2025 at Koforidua, bringing together all seven prison stations in the Eastern Region along with representatives from sister security agencies.
As part of her visit, Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie paid courtesy calls to the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, and the Paramount Chief of New Juaben, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III.

Both leaders pledged strong support for the initiative, particularly the Prison Improvement and Sustainability Pesewa Fund (PISPES), contributing initial donations and encouraging others to participate.
The launch featured a colourful parade through the main streets of Koforidua to raise public awareness. Attendees included the Director of Prisons in charge of Operations and Facility Management,
Mr. Benedict Bob-Dery; Eastern Regional Commander, DDP Patrick Thomas Seidu; District Chief Executive, Hon. Moses Tangmee; and Deputy Eastern Regional Police Commander, ACP Richard Appiah.
The Think Prisons 360 Degrees Initiative aims to enhance staff welfare, promote agricultural mechanization, support prison-based industries and businesses, create wealth, and foster strategic partnerships.
Early implementation has already begun to yield visible improvements across the region.
