“As a responsible corporate citizen, MTN continues to invest meaningfully in society, ensuring that our growth aligns with sustainable development,” Madam Wiafe stated.

Highlighting the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, she revealed MTN Ghana’s ambition to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

Under its economic empowerment programmes, MTN is also venturing into smart farming initiatives aimed at creating sustainable jobs and supporting local livelihoods.

Mr Reuben Opata, Chief Technical Officer of MTN Ghana, added that by 2026, more communities would be connected under the company’s horizontal network expansion project. He advised customers to be cautious about the types of devices they use, noting that device quality significantly affects data performance and consumption.

The $1 billion investment is expected to strengthen network reliability, expand rural coverage, and accelerate Ghana’s transition into a digitally inclusive economy.
