Mr Afadzinu emphasised that healthcare is a cornerstone of national growth and a central part of the Bank’s community investment strategy.
He described the establishment of the Medical Tourism Centre as “a bold step” to elevate Ho Teaching Hospital as a regional leader in specialised care.
“Ho Teaching Hospital is already a pillar in this region, and with this new centre, it has the potential to attract medical tourists, expand access to care, and raise the standard of healthcare delivery,” he said.
He added, “Better infrastructure leads to better service. And better service leads to better outcomes for the people who matter most, the patients,” highlighting the Bank’s long-term commitment to community strengthening.
Mr George Tetteh, Director of Administration at Ho Teaching Hospital, who received the equipment on behalf of the CEO, expressed gratitude for the donation and reaffirmed the Hospital’s vision to become the preferred medical tourism destination in the sub-region.
He also revealed that the Medical Tourism Office would soon introduce a music therapy studio to further enhance the hospital’s wellness tourism offerings.
