Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has praised the Ghana Armed Forces for their exceptional contribution to post-disaster reconstruction efforts in Jamaica under “Operation Boafo.”
In a message shared during his official visit, Hon. Ablakwa lauded the professionalism and dedication of Ghanaian troops deployed to assist Jamaica in rebuilding after the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
He noted that Jamaicans he interacted with expressed deep appreciation to Ghana and President John Dramani Mahama for the timely support and solidarity shown.

According to the Minister, the operation reflects Ghana’s long-standing commitment to international cooperation, particularly South-South collaboration rooted in shared history and ancestral bonds between Ghana and Jamaica.
He described the mission as a source of national pride, highlighting the Armed Forces’ ability to project Ghana’s values of compassion, discipline, and service beyond its borders.
Hon. Ablakwa encouraged the troops to continue their exemplary work, stating that their efforts have strengthened bilateral relations and reinforced Ghana’s positive image on the global stage.
“Keep making Ghana proud,” he said, reaffirming the enduring ties between the two countries and celebrating the spirit of ancestral solidarity and cooperation that continues to unite them.
