Sampa, Bono Region, Oct. 24 — The Bono Regional Police Command has called on faith-based organisations in Sampa, Jaman North District, to support efforts aimed at sustaining peace and stability in the area amid recurring violent clashes linked to a long-standing chieftaincy dispute.
A statement issued by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police, reminded residents that possession of firearms and weapons is unlawful, urging families to caution their children against such practices.
The engagement was led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Andrews George Kumah, Deputy Bono Regional Commander, who encouraged the community to back peace initiatives. The statement warned that anyone found with firearms would face prosecution and stressed the need for lawfulness to enable educational institutions, financial establishments, and commerce to thrive.
