The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, together with members of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), has visited the site of the recent fire outbreak at Sofoline to assess the extent of damage and sympathise with affected victims.
The visit was undertaken on behalf of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, as part of government efforts to show solidarity with victims and ensure a coordinated response to the incident.
Dr. Amoakohene said the visit was necessary to obtain first-hand information and to facilitate appropriate support for those who suffered losses.

He commended the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Police Service, and other security agencies for their swift and professional response, which helped to contain the fire and prevent further destruction.
He also praised the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Hon. Eric Asibey, for his leadership and coordination during the emergency.
According to preliminary reports, the fire affected 34 vehicles and 24 shops. The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) is currently conducting a detailed assessment to determine the full extent of losses and to guide relief and recovery efforts.
Dr. Amoakohene used the occasion to caution the public to take fire safety seriously. He advised residents and business operators to avoid electrical overloading, switch off electrical appliances when not in use, handle gas cylinders with care, and promptly report faulty wiring to prevent similar incidents in the future.
He assured victims that government remains committed to supporting affected persons and strengthening preventive measures to reduce the occurrence of fire outbreaks across the region.
