Mr Mike K. Gabah, a former Commissioner of the Public Services Commission, has applauded the Ghana News Agency (GNA) for its longstanding commitment to professionalism and ethical reporting in Ghana’s media landscape.
Speaking during a training session on “Effective Supervision in Public Service Institutions” in Accra on Thursday, Mr Gabah said the GNA had, for decades, set a high benchmark for credible journalism.
He noted that the Agency’s reputation for accuracy was unmatched, stating: “The GNA is well known for its authentic products, and whenever I see GNA stories, I know they are highly reliable and authentic.”

Established in 1957 on the eve of Ghana’s independence, the GNA serves as the nation’s official wire service, mandated to deliver independent, objective and comprehensive reporting on national events and developmental issues.
With operations across all 16 regions, the Agency supplies news to both local and international media organisations.
The commendation came during a three-day national conference of the Agency, which has brought together regional managers, head office staff and unit heads to assess the GNA’s performance over the past year.
The conference also seeks to review coverage outputs, refine thematic reporting, address operational challenges and map out strategic directions for 2026 and beyond.
Mr Gabah encouraged participants to continue upholding high journalistic standards, stressing that effective supervision was essential for sound decision-making, coordination, accountability and improved productivity.
