The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially endorsed TadiFest, integrating it into the 2025 December in GH activities. The annual festival, organised by Empire FM, Takoradi, in collaboration with the Confederation of Western Region Masqueraders, showcases the tourism potential of Ghana’s Western Region while promoting the country’s culture and heritage.
TadiFest is commemorated in December with various events, including the December Empire Family Picnic, December Oil City Health Walk, and the 25th of December Masquerade Carnival, designed to attract locals, diaspora, and international visitors.
According to a GTA statement, the festival aligns with the Black Star Experience, Ghana’s overarching campaign to promote tourism, arts, and culture globally. The initiative emphasises key pillars such as heritage and culture, music and entertainment, trade and investment, fashion, creative arts, and gastronomy. It aims to position Ghana as a hub for authentic African experiences while deepening connections with the diaspora and driving tourism-led development.

December in GH, spearheaded by the GTA, is a strategic tourism initiative designed to enhance domestic tourism, attract visitors from the African diaspora, and welcome global tourism enthusiasts during the December festive season and New Year. Since its inception, the initiative has significantly boosted international arrivals, economic growth, and cultural exchange, making it one of Ghana’s most impactful tourism campaigns.
