As part of the programme, a stakeholder sensitisation seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Residency Conference Hall.

This will be followed by a public walk on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 7:00 a.m., starting from the Ho Teaching Hospital, popularly known as Trafalgar.
Government reaffirmed its commitment to peace and security in the Volta Region, noting that unregulated gun ownership poses serious risks to public safety.
It was stressed that peace and security remain a central pillar of the development agenda for the region, as meaningful development cannot be achieved without a peaceful environment.
Reference was also made to a recent shooting incident within the Muslim community in Ho, described as unfortunate and uncalled for, highlighting the relevance of the sensitisation seminar and the overall programme.
The initiative was welcomed, with an appeal made for the amnesty period to be extended to the end of January to allow more citizens to take advantage of the programme
