The Member of Parliament, Hon. James Gunu, has received the newly posted Supervising High Court Judge for the Volta Region, Her Ladyship Justice Stephen Kumi, during a courtesy call aimed at strengthening collaboration between regional leadership and the Judicial Service.
The engagement offered an opportunity for both leaders to interact as Justice Kumi officially begins his supervisory duties in the region.
Discussions focused on the importance of a credible and efficient justice system as a foundation for peace and security, as well as its role in boosting investor confidence and supporting economic growth across the Volta Region.

Hon. Gunu reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Judicial Service to improve justice delivery for residents.
Drawing from his experience as a former District Chief Executive for Akatsi North, Hon. Gunu highlighted the establishment of the District Court at Ave-Dakpa as a practical example of how improved access to justice can contribute to local development and enhance public trust in state institutions.
The meeting also examined key challenges confronting the justice system in the Volta Region.
Both parties identified areas for collaboration to strengthen judicial administration and enhance service delivery, with a shared resolve to ensure fairness, efficiency, and accessibility in the administration of justice.
